The Chautauqua Lake Region offers spectacular beauty all seasons of the year.  From the sparkling blue waters of Chautauqua Lake on a sunny summer day, to the awesome sunsets on the lake, the vibrant fall colors or the sparkling snow on a winter day, beauty is not far to be found.

Chautauqua Lake, at an elevation of 1,308 feet above sea level is one of the highest navigable lakes in North America.  It is a top-rated lake for sailing and for fishing, a world-class muskellunge fishery, and an excellent place to fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, perch, bluegill and crappie among others.

The Chautauqua Lake region also offers a rich natural and cultural heritage, with several state parks, including historic Midway Park and picturesque Long Point State Park, privately managed Panama Rocks, and  over 40 historic landmarks and places on the National Register, including nearby Chautauqua Institution, founded in 1874 and still active as a center for education and the arts, and Point Chautauqua, a lovely lakeside community designed in 1875 by Frederick Law Olmstead.  As the birthplace of Lucille Ball, Roger Tory Peterson and Robert H. Jackson among other famous people, the nearby City of Jamestown is the home to various cultural centers including the National Comedy Center, Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History and the Robert H. Jackson Center for Justice.
